Description

Habitat for Humanity of Oakland County is seeking a full-time Major Gifts Officer to manage a portfolio of 75 to 125 accounts. Our Development Department is team-oriented and requires a professional capable of acquiring new donors, fostering relationships, and stewarding and upgrading existing donors. This role involves collaboration with volunteers, construction site supervisors, and the ReStore team. We are looking for someone who aligns with our mission and thrives in a rapidly growing environment. Evening and weekend availability is occasionally required. Attendance and active participation in all scheduled fundraising events are mandatory.

This is a 40-hour-per-week salaried position with medical benefits, two weeks of pro-rated paid vacation, accrued sick and personal days, and at least 8 paid holidays. Additionally, we offer a 401k plan with up to a 4% match.

Qualifications
  1. 3-5 years of successful fundraising or sales experience

  2. Outgoing and friendly demeanor

  5. Strategic thinker who delivers results

  6. Superior presentation and storytelling skills

  7. Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail

  8. Ability to comply with all company policies, practices, and performance standards

  9. Goal-driven

  10. Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office and CRM programs)

  11. Familiarity with various social media platforms

  12. Ability to travel regionally and must have own transport

  13. Ability to understand and effectively communicate with individuals from diverse backgrounds

  14. Ability to represent HFHOC professionally and passionately in the community

Education: 

Bachelor’s Degree. Preferred majors include Philanthropy, Communications, Business, or Community Development
