Hourly Pay: Exempt position, pay range is $17-$19 per hour
Time Commitment: Full-Time, Non-Exempt
Office Location: Remote/Hybrid
Start Date: ASAP
Anticipated Travel: Up to 5% for event management

Habitat for Humanity of Michigan is the state support organization for Michigan’s 44 Habitat for Humanity affiliates which serve most counties in the state. HFHM’s mission is to increase the capacity of Habitat for Humanity affiliates in Michigan to build or renovate homes in partnership with people in need. Position Description:
The administrative assistant performs a wide range of administrative and office support duties for the Habitat for Humanity of Michigan staff to facilitate the efficient operation of the organization while facilitating excellent customer service internal and external to the organization.
Job Summary: Support HFHM administrative staff with various office duties, project support to all team members, assist with the planning of board and committee meetings, and be responsible for general reception.
Job Duties:
- Provide customer service to the public and affiliate network
- Provide general administrative support to the Senior Leadership Team as needed
- Coordinate the organization, planning, and execution of the annual Affiliates in Motion Conference and the HOMES Construction Summit
- Maintain records for the board, including member terms, schedule meetings, and take meeting minutes
- Compile materials and schedule meetings for the Affiliate Support Organization (ASO) Board Committees, Topic Council Meetings, and AIM/HOMES planning committee meetings; taking notes as necessary
- Maintain and organize the ASO calendar
- Perform general administrative duties, including ordering office supplies, assist with program mailings, and other projects as needed
- Work with Human Resources to facilitate staff communications
- Assist the Chief Programs Officer in compiling data for grant reporting
- Other projects as assigned based upon skill set and interests of employee
Education and Experience
- High school diploma required; two or four-year degree preferred
- 2+ years of experience in customer service and basic office management
- Proven experience as an administrative assistant, virtual assistant, or office admin assistant
- Knowledge of office management systems and procedures
- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with stakeholders, including staff, board members, and external partners.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with special attention to detail
- Able to manage and prioritize multiple projects at once
- Capable of working well independently and also as a member of the HFHM team; able to adapt and be flexible
- Ability to work remotely as well as from the office in Lansing as needed
- Event/conference planning experience a plus
