  • AmeriCorps Members will receive a living stipend of $6,750, paid biweekly on the 15th and last of the month throughout the member’s term
  • AmeriCorps members receive an Educational Award at the end of the term of $2,907.50, which is good for seven years after receipt and can be used for either tuition purposes or to repay eligible federal student loans.
  • The term of service is from April 2018 – October 2018



In support of Habitat for Humanity Capital Region’s volunteer retention and recognition objectives, the Volunteer Outreach Liaison will primarily be responsible for supporting volunteer activities and volunteer recognition and social media promotion of Habitat. Some assistance with recruitment and scheduling of volunteers. This position’s main responsibilities will include:

  • Regularly utilize social media outlets to aid in volunteer recognition efforts  Present updates to community organizations that have engaged with HFHCR to recognize volunteer achievements and maintain connections with these organizations
  • Poll past volunteers to identify areas of strength and identify areas for improvement in the volunteer process
  • Contact past volunteers to re-engage them in service or to engage them in serving more hours or in additional roles 
  • Assist with organizing, scheduling, and coordinating volunteer groups including Women Build, Care-A-Vanners, Core Crew, Collegiate Challenge, Campus Chapters, Rock the Block, etc.
  • Attend community events to spread awareness and aid in recruitment for Habitat volunteer needs.
  • Support local MSU Affiliate Campus Chapter and Habitat Young Professionals group



  • High school diploma/equivalent required. College experience preferred.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Must be US Citizen or Permanent Resident.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Excellent skills with various social media outlets
  • Comfortable with public speaking



  • Experience with Salesforce or other CRM databases
  • Experience managing volunteers
  • Organized and proactive personality
  • Experience with project management 
  • Flexible, self-directed team player
