IMPORTANT DETAILS:

  • AmeriCorps Members will receive a total living stipend of $6,750, paid biweekly on the 15th and last of the month throughout the member’s term

  • AmeriCorps members receive an Educational Award at the end of the term of $2,907.50, which is good for seven years after receipt and can be used for either tuition purposes or to repay eligible federal student loans.

  • The term of service is from April 2018 – October 2018

Role and Responsibilities 

In support of Habitat for Humanity Capital Region’s strategic plan to improve service delivery in the homeowner services department, the Homeowner Outreach Liaison will proactively identify and target organizations to increase qualified homebuyer recruitment. This position will focus on community outreach by coordinating programs, activities, and events designed to promote services provided by the affiliate. Responsibilities include:

  • Develop and implement a homeownership-related social media marketing plan. Regularly utilize social media outlets to aid in recruitment efforts.

  • Create and strengthen connections with other community organizations to expand recruitment efforts.

  • Attend community events to spread awareness and aid in recruitment for Habitat programs.

  • Plan public events to educate prospective homebuyers about Habitat programs.

  • Assist during homebuyer application orientations.  

 

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • High school diploma/equivalent required. College experience preferred.

  • Must be at least 18 years old

  • Must be US Citizen or Permanent Resident

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications

  • Exceptional communication skills (written and oral)

  • Experience working with diverse communities

  • Experience using various social media platforms

  • Valid Driver’s License and regular access to vehicle 

 

Preferred Skills 

  • Bachelor’s Degree related to social work, human services, or marketing preferred

  • Experience with Salesforce or other CRM databases

  • Flexible, self-directed team player

  • Organized and proactive

  • Experience in project management
