Description Summary
Responsible for cleaning and preparing construction sites for the erection of structures and buildings. Unloads and loads materials, performs punch list items, reads plans and specifications, tends machines, and assists carpenters, operating engineers, and other construction site workers.
Role and Responsibilities
• Coordinates project activities with direct supervision from Director of Operations / Project Manager.
a. Procures all materials for project sites.
b. Tracks all material deliveries.
c. Performs material deliveries and pick-ups.
d. Stages areas of the warehouse for material storage.
e. Performs timely completion of project close out activities.
• Performs construction site functions as requested.
a. Assist in building structures for residential, business, and construction sites.
b. Utilize power and hand tools.
c. Participate in demolitions.
d. Remove trees and debris.
e. Service machines, including pumps, compressors, generators, and trailers with assistance.
f. Use spray guns for application of material to ceilings or walls.
g. Assist construction managers.
h. Read blueprints and designs.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
• High school diploma required
• Valid Michigan Driver’s License required
Preferred Skills
• Competent knowledge of basic phases of construction projects and mathematics functions (geometry, basic algebra) or the willingness to learn.
• Competent computer skills (Email, Word, Excel).
• Written and verbal communication skills necessary.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Ability to perform work in a timely and professional manner while effectively communicating with other third parties.
• Ability to connect with individuals of all income brackets, ages and professional levels.
