Habitat for Humanity of Huron Valley (HHHV) is a dynamic, progressive nonprofit organization that works to provide affordable homeownership opportunities for families of low-income in Washtenaw County.

HHHV’s Home Ownership Program focuses on renovating properties to a high energy efficiency standard and selling those properties to buyers with household incomes of 30-80% of Area Median Income.  HHHV is seeking a Construction Assistant to join our team to help with ongoing construction activities.

Position Term, Responsibilities & Schedule

The Construction Assistant position is a full-time position with compensation commensurate with experience. The position will report directly to the Construction Project Manager. Work schedule will be Tuesday-Saturday. The Construction Assistant will be a highly motivated and problem solving individual that will help with ongoing house renovation projects.   • Commitment to serving families with low-incomes and advancing the critical call for affordable homeownership in Washtenaw County
  • Able to work well as part of a team and show commitmentto organizational achievement
  • Must be able to do heavy lifting when needed
  • Proven ability to work unsupervised to complete assigned tasks
  • Must have reliable transportation to use while on the job
  • Must be motivated, self-driven, responsible, and reliable
  • Ability to handle frequent change and to work under pressure
  • Some general residential construction knowledge is preferred
