IMPORTANT DETAILS:

  1. AmeriCorps Members will receive a total living stipend of $6,400, paid biweekly on the 15th and last of the month throughout the member’s term
  2. AmeriCorps members receive an Educational Award at the end of the term of $2,887.50, which is good for seven years after receipt and can be used for either tuition purposes or to repay eligible federal student loans.
  3. The term of service is from July 2017 – February 2018

 

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

In support of Habitat for Humanity Capital Region’s strategic plan to improve service delivery in the homeowner services department, the Homeowner Services Coordinator will proactively identify and target organizations to increase qualified homebuyer recruitment. This position will focus on community outreach by coordinating programs, activities, and events designed to promote affiliate services. This position may also require occasional weekend and evening hours.

Activities for this position include:

  • Develop written outreach process to support HFHCR homeowner services department
  • Develop and implement a homeownership-related social media marketing plan and other marketing materials for the outreach plan
  • Implement a homebuyer recruitment process with local organizations
  • Plan public events to educate prospective homebuyers about the Habitat for Humanity program
  • Attend and host homeownership education events and manage application orientations
  • Support client case management in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures
  • Establish and maintain effective communication and coordination with all Habitat stakeholders
  • Assume responsibility for ensuring work area is clean and organized
  • Flexibility in assisting other team members as needed

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • AmeriCorps members must be at least 18 years old (17 with parent/guardian permission)
  • Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Candidates must be either a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Experience or willingness to learn Salesforce
  • Previous customer service experience
  • Professional communicator, verbally, and written

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Previous community outreach or nonprofit experience desired
  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred.
  • Personable, proactive, organized, attentive to detail, capable of multi-tasking
  • Flexible, self-directed, team player
  • Confident public speaker
