Volunteer Services Coordinator

Habitat for Humanity of Kent County seeks to fill the position of Volunteer Services Coordinator within the Volunteer Services Department.  This is a full-time, exempt position and will work primarily Tuesday-Saturday from 7am-4pm.  The primary focus of this position will be on managing and coordinating volunteers who serve the affiliate ensuring Habitat volunteers have an exceptional experience. Qualified candidates should have a demonstrated interest in supporting a mission-oriented non-profit organization and volunteers. 

Position Requirements:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or 3 years equivalent experience in volunteer management, event planning, communications, non-profit leadership, etc. 
  • Qualified candidates must be willing to work in a non-traditional work setting (construction sites, warehouse, ReStore, as well as in the office). 
  • Strong demonstrable verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills including the ability to frequently speak in front of small and large groups.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and online database and social media; (Volunteer Hub and/or Raiser’s Edge exposure desired); provide demonstrated attention to detail and be self-directed.  
  • Qualified candidates must have the ability to work and communicate well with diverse groups of people, have the flexibility to multi-task and assist with a variety of tasks. 
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, safe driving record and reliable and consistent personal transportation.   
  • Must be able to walk, kneel, and lift a minimum of 25 pounds.
