The Habitat for Humanity of Michigan Sustainable Building Team was offered the opportunity to host a green building conference in the Great Lakes region on January 27 and 28, 2010.
There will also be a pre-conference certification opportunity to become a lead-safe certified renovator on January 26.

The primary mission of the HOMES Green Building Summit is to provide training in practical skills that apply building science principles in cold climate residential construction and promote accessibility in affordable housing.
Rather than teaching principles in the laws of thermodynamics, the conference goal is to share information on how to properly perform construction tasks that result in safe, efficient, durable installations.
The HOMES Green Building Summit is being partly sponsored through a partnership with The Home Depot Foundation and Habitat for Humanity International.
