Habitat for Humanity Michigan Fund (HFHMF):
- Is governed by an independent Board of Directors;
- Shares board members and some staff with Habitat for Humanity of Michigan;
- Is staffed by a Loan Officer registered with the State of Michigan;
- Is licensed by the State of Michigan to originate and service mortgage loans in Michigan. NMLS #133758.
Services offered by HFHMF:
Mortgage Origination, Processing and Closing for Habitat Affiliates – Habitat Affiliates may utilize the services of HFHMF to originate, process and close mortgages as a solution for becoming compliant with licensing and registration requirements in the State of Michigan. These services allow Affiliate staff members to concentrate on home construction, remodeling and fund development. It also reduces the burden of staying current on constantly-changing regulatory requirements of mortgage lending.
Mortgage Servicing – As a licensed mortgage lender and servicer with the State of Michigan, HFHMF offers mortgage servicing to Affiliates. Affiliates may transfer their current servicing responsibilities without losing the asset. Affiliates will partner with HFHMF to assist delinquent homebuyers in maintaining their mortgage and helping them stay in their home.
Training – Affiliates who partner with HFHMF have access to free training services in mortgage lending and regulatory compliance.
Asset Recovery Assistance – HFHMF originates, processes and closes mortgages for homebuyers of Habitat Affiliate homes and sells these mortgages to the secondary market, allowing the Affiliate access to capital to produce more homes.
