In her role with Habitat, Michelle oversees the administration of down payment assistance funding which is used to improve Habitat’s low-income borrower’s ability to qualify for mortgage financing. Michelle provides support to Habitat for Humanity affiliates across the state regarding compliance with federal and state grant regulations and serves as Habitat Michigan’s designated fair housing contact. Michelle also focuses on family-related opportunities, including the Homeowner Services Topic Council, and other empowerment and educational programs.
Michelle holds a Master’s Degree in Social Work with a concentration in Organization and Community Leadership and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Family and Community Services, both from Michigan State University. Go Green! In her free time, Michelle skates competitively on a women’s flat track roller derby team. Michelle also enjoys running and hiking with her husband, Christian, and their rescued lab-mix, Stevie.
