Maureen completed her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Communication studies at Western Michigan University. During her graduate programs, Maureen taught several undergraduate courses in interpersonal and visual communication and participated in research on the role of radio in crisis communication. While her background is in public radio broadcasting, Maureen has always had an interest in community activism and volunteering. Maureen joined the AmeriCorps VISTA program in 2015 to get her feet wet in the nonprofit sector, and was thrilled to be offered a full-time position at the end of her AmeriCorps service.
Outside of the office, Maureen enjoys working on renovating her house, learning Welsh, reading, crafting, and watching copious amounts of Netflix. She is a proud alum of the Bronco Marching Band (trumpet) and the All Ears Radio Theatre.
